This workbase is to response to the 2030 Challenge [2] , which stated that the building sector must become carbon neutral by the year 2030. This is due to the fact that architecture – or the building sector, more generally – is the largest single source of greenhouse gas emissions, worldwide.
Thus, this workbase will be investigating design issues and design problems relate to environmental – conscious architecture and most importantly:-
“That the project be designed to engage the environment in a way that dramatically reduces or eliminates the need for fossil fuels.”

[1]The definition of Environmental encompass the word sustainable, green, bioclimatic, ecological, carbon free, neutral carbon, energy efficient etc
[2] 2030 Challenge is issue by a non- profit organization led by Edward Mazria, an US based architect who believed that architectural practice and education should change their way of designing buildings in order to prevent “catastrophic” climate change.
