Hello everyone,

As I’m etching towards the final stage of my research, I would like to conduct a survey that would conclude my data gathering. The survey is open to all whom have used Tanggam as a regular member, be it students, lecturers, architects or graduated individuals. As long as you’ve used Tanggam, your feedback would be precious for my research.

You only need to take the survey once, and it’s totally anonymous. The survey consists of primarily scale rating, although I’ve placed additional text boxes where you can put in anything that came to mind. Although the questionnaire’s in English, you may reply in BM or a mix of both. It’s informal, so feel free to express yourselves.

You can access the survey here:

It should take you no more than 15 minutes to complete the survey. To discuss about this survey, click here .

Thanks in advanced.

Finally, the eagerly awaited sequel to the 2005 “Alternative” Design Folio is here!

‘A’ for Architecture, an alternative book: Design Thesis Folio 2007

Editors: Ab. Razak Rahman, Syed Ahmad Iskandar Syed Ariffin & Ang Chee Seng
Publisher: Penerbit UTM Press, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia

If you’ve seen the first alternative book, you wont be disappointed with this one. It is more of a review of selected thesis rather than just a catalogue/showcase collection. Would be a great source if you would like to know what UTM architectural students have been up to lately.

If you’re interested, get it from En. Hazazi (UTM Skudai) or reply in the thread provided in the link below. We can arrange for postage/delivery. Alternatively, those in KL should be able to find this book in UTM KL soon.
The price is RM55.00, on sale now! Current UTM students can get discounts. Discuss or arrange a purchase here.

A pilot study is being setup in tanggam that will involve a group of students in UTM Skudai and hopefully another group from Kansas University. Tanggam will become the platform for communication, hopefully as an extension of the real-world social relationship amongst designers.
This study is an observational study to see how augmenting the studio with an online forum could affect the design education (be it positive or negative). Tanggam is an online community consisting of students, ex-students, architects, academicians and other professionals involved in the built environment. The study is looking into how tanggam online community could assist students learning design, progressing in their projects and eventually producing an end product.
If you are interested to take part of the study or wanting to know more, register and join this topic:
